“Bridgerton” fans rejoice. Season three is on the way.

The two-time Emmy Award winning series from mastermind Shonda Rhimes and her Shondaland Productions will return this coming spring with a two part premiere.

The new season will follow the back and forth between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan)  and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) as Penelope seems to give up on the idea of winning Colin’s love after she caught wind of his harsh words about her last season. She asserts instead that she “seeks a husband who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double-life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters” according to the show’s synopsis.

“Complicating matters for Penelope,” the synopsis further reads, “is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the Ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”

Season three of “Bridgerton” will be split into two four-episode parts with the first set to premiere on Netflix on May 16 and part two to follow on June 13.
