Jonathan Majors was en route to becoming the next big supervillain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but all of that changed when he was found guilty of assault and harassment on Dec. 18.

Marvel Studios and Disney parted ways with the actor following the news, leaving a big question as to who will replace Majors. Majors played Kang the Conqueror, and debuted as a character in season one of “Loki” and the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Marvel now has a decision to make, and with them already introducing the character, somebody will have to replace Majors. Here are a few ideas on who could possibly be cast as the next villain.

Idris Elba

Idris Elba has experience working with Marvel, as he was cast as Heimdall in the Thor franchise. In March 2023, Elba shared that he would be open to being a part of the Black Panther franchise, but not as a villain. With the recent news, it’s not certain if Elba would change his mind, but he does have experience playing a Marvel character, and he has the personality and traits that align with the Kang the Conqueror role.

Mike Colter

Mike Colter is another person who has experience working with Marvel, and he played the title character in the “Luke Cage” series. Even though Colter played hero Luke Cage, that doesn’t mean that he can’t play the role of Kang, especially since there are no more episodes of
“Luke Cage” being released. Colter has the physique to play the villain role, so don’t count him out.

Trevante Rhodes

Trevante Rhodes has not played a villain in any of his recent movie roles, but he has played one of the most polarizing figures in sports, Mike Tyson. If Rhodes can play the role of Tyson, he’ll definitely be a good fit for Kang.

John Boyega

John Boyega was the star in the Netflix movie They Cloned Tyrone and has played in other films such as Star Wars, so he has the range to play a villain.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

Anyone who saw Candyman knows Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has the chops to play a villain. He’s also been in a number of other movies and films, and has proved his ability to play a wide variety of roles.
