Rajon Rondo has been reportedly arrested on gun and marijuana charges.
Rondo was arrested on Jan. 28 in Jackson County, Indiana, according to WDRB. He was stopped for a traffic violation when a state trooper pulled him over and smelled marijuana. The trooper then searched the car and found a gun, a “personal use” amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Rondo was not supposed to have a gun because he had a no-contact order against him in court. All charges are misdemeanors. He was taken to Jackson County Jail before posting a $700 bond.
An initial court hearing has been set for Feb. 27.
Rondo, 37, is known as one of the better point guards of his time during his 16 seasons in the NBA. His wingspan and knowledge of the game allowed him to be one of the more creative stars in the league with wrap-around passes and behind-the-back fakes.
In his career, he won two NBA championships, one in 2008 with the Boston Celtics and one in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Rondo also made stops with the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The four-time All-Star averaged 9.8 points, 7.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game throughout his career.
