Elmo logged into X on Jan. 29 and asked a straightforward question.

“How is everybody doing?” he asked over 456,000 followers.

The responses told it all:

“Where do we begin, Elmontre?” @jonnyjukeboxx asked.

“Wife left me,” @DaveMcNamee3000 replied. “Daughters don’t respect me. My job is a joke. Any more questions, Elmo??? Jesus, man.”

“Every morning, I cannot wait to go back to sleep,” @ContrarianGuild posted. “Every Monday, I cannot wait for Friday to come. Every single day and every single week for life.”

“Elmo, I just got laid off,” @UsingCigarettes posted.

Everything wasn’t all negative, however.

“Honestly, I’m in a really good place right now,” Chance The Rapper replied.

Overall, Elmo’s post received nearly 130 million views within 24 hours.

The question was a part of promoting “Sesame Street‘s” initiative of focusing on mental well-being. On the Sesame Workshop page, a highlighted stat is that the rates of childhood depression and anxiety doubled during 2020-21, cited by the Journal of American Medicine.

As a result of the stat, Sesame’s Workshop includes online resources to improve the health of the mind and body. The song “Me & My Grown-Up” shows child viewers to look to and lean on adults when they don’t feel supported.
