NFL legend Shannon Sharpe proclaimed to the world that megastar Beyoncé does not move the needle as strongly as fellow singer Taylor Swift.

The Hall of Famer Sharpe, who created a typhoon on social media when caustic comedian Katt Williams detonated on his “Club Shay Shay” podcast, emphatically stated that Swift’s star power today is superior to Queen Bey’s.

“I love Beyoncé. But she ain’t Taylor,” Sharpe roared on debating fellow former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson on their separate podcast, “Nightcap.”

As for Swift, Sharpe claims “she’s the closest thing to moving the needle like Michael Jackson that we’ve seen,” he said unequivocally. “This is it.”

Ochocinco, who was obviously perturbed, countered that Bey does move the needle just as much as Swift, if not more.

“Back in a little bit, Unc,” Ochocinco barked at Sharpe. “Beyoncé moves the needle just like Taylor, if not more.”

Ocho refused to back down from his stance that Beyoncé matches Swift in star power, money generation and global influence, but Sharpe said Swift is “a different animal.”

Sharpe probably engaged in hyperbole when he made his next statement which irked Ocho and many Beyoncé fans.

“Put it to the test, the NFL could have anybody do halftime. I guarantee Taylor Swift is first. Over Beyoncé, Jay Z and Rihanna combined. That’s who they want” Sharpe said, before adding that Swift turned the NFL down. “I ain’t tellin’ you no hearsay. I’m telling you what I know.”

Sharpe’s immutable stance that Swift ranks higher than Beyoncé in the hierarchy of today’s musical greats incited the ire of the Queen Bey discipleship.

“He’s not saying Taylor is better or he likes her more, he’s saying Taylor is a bigger artist “currently.” Taylor has all the millions of Caucasian teenage fans which is the majority. Btw I’m a fan of Beyoncé,” a fan said in the comments section on YouTube.
