The messy battle over the estate of Nate Dogg has finally been settled.
According to Radar Online, the years-long back-and-forth regarding the late hip-hop singer’s estate was recently resolved. It was determined that the estate’s final value of $2.7 million would be distributed equally among Nate’s widow, LaToya Calvin, and his nine children.
Originally believed to have six children, the probate judge in the case ruled that Nate (real name Nathaniel Hale) was the legal father of three additional children, and they were entitled to benefit from his estate as well.
Furthermore, the estate’s administrator has confirmed that there are no further outstanding debts owed by the estate, as they have settled the once lingering $144,000 IRS bill.
At the time of his passing in 2011, Nate Dogg had no will in place, and his estate was contested by the mothers of his children, who claimed that his widow, LaToya Calvin, was ineligible to be his beneficiary, as he had filed for divorce from Calvin just 19 days before his death.
A judge ruled at the time that Calvin was indeed legally entitled to inherit, as the divorce proceedings had not been finalized, and she was still legally his wife.
