The unmistakable and irresistible aroma from freshly baked cupcakes wafts out the door. That scent is calling out to you as you approach Kupcakerie.
Once you enter this dessert heaven on Main Street in East Point, Georgia, it becomes futile to try to resist. You are firmly in the cupcake’s grasp. These treats seem to have an imaginary finger beckoning you from behind the glass partition that separates you from those delectable delights.
This is just one reason why Kupcakerie would make the ideal Valentine’s Day season stop.
For those who are searching for a nice romantic spot to celebrate the holiday of love, Kupcakerie is the consummate place to delve into luscious desserts such as cupcakes and pastries — and you may catch yourself gazing at the treats as much as the eyes of your lover.
Kupcakerie is housed inside a large red brick building at 2781 Main Street. The spot radiates a quaint, small-town, friendly vibe that is highly inviting and attractive, although East Point is connected to the bustling big town of Atlanta.
This writer chose the peanut butter and chocolate cupcake and a cup of hot coffee. The cupcake was soft and moist and the flavors coated my tongue like a warm blanket. The environs exuded comfort and serenity. This writer was able to fire up the laptop and work while enjoying the cupcake and coffee with ample shoulder space.
As a versatile establishment, Kupcakerie is the perfect spot to visit either as the main outing on Valentine’s Day or to go before or after engaging in another romantic endeavor. You can enjoy their delicious cupcakes before hitting up a drive-in movie. Or you can go to an upscale steak restaurant and then slide into Kupcakerie for some sumptuous cakes to finish out the evening.
Owned by the husband and wife team of Henry and Kascha Adeleye, Kupcakerie began in 2014 as strictly an online bakery serving up guilty pleasures such as red velvet cupcakes. The Adeleyes soon opened up their store in 2016 in East Point and now boasts a second location in the Grant Park section of Atlanta.
The names they’ve adorned these infectious treats include “Peanut Butta Have My Chocolate,” — which this writer sampled — as well as “Germaine Jackson,” “Tall, Dark, and Handsome,” “Hot and Bothered” and “What are Nu-Telling Me?”
Today, Kupcakerie has expanded its operations to serve goodies and tasty treats for weddings, birthday parties, baby showers and other special events. You can either sit and eat a cupcake or two at their locations, order them in advance and pick them up or even have a batch delivered to your home or place of business.
If you choose to work at Kupcakerie in East Point, you have sufficient space to operate while working and gazing out at the expansive view that includes East Point City Hall.
Once you taste one of Kupcakerie’s cakes, you’ll quickly understand why it should become synonymous with Valentine’s Day.
