LAS VEGAS — Football players aren’t generally considered couture arbiters and fashion refinement exemplars.
However, this past weekend, many current and former NFL players and Hall of Famers were at their best at the NFL Honors at the grandiose Resorts World Las Vegas.
NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor was one of the biggest fashion aficionados on the scene. The New York Giants signal-caller is actually starting up his own fashion line.
Others included Gerald McCoy, a member of the NFL Network’s “NFL Game Day” on Sundays, who wore an eye-popping outfit on the red carpet.
Another with a flair for the threads was Cameron “Cam” Heyward, the bone-crushing defensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His heart, however, is as soft as the blue tux he sported as he won the Walter Payton “Man of the Year Award” for the sixth time in his career. That award is given annually to the football player who best displays community involvement.
Some attendees, like Barry Sanders, were fashionable without even trying because they donned the famed yellow jacket that indicated they were members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
