Shannon Sharpe has been the topic of discussion since the start of the year, and it looks like things won’t be slowing down anytime soon for the former football player turned media personality.
Sharpe has gained a lot of notoriety for his show “Club Shay Shay,” and the guests that he brings on, but the comedians are more worried about his sexuality.
Recently, Eddie Griffin did a comedy set where he mentioned Sharpe and questioned his sexuality, calling him gay.
“And Club Shay Shay. Yeah, Shay Shay. Gay gay. I don’t give a f—, that n—- gay,” Griffin said. “That n—- sitting there with them tight a– pants on with his balls and d— all up in Katt’s face.
“You can tell how that n—- drink that he gay. He kept on saying, ‘now, now Katt.’ That’s d— lips n—-. That motherf—– had d— on them lips, don’t no n—- drink like that.”

One thing Sharpe has not been shy about is responding to the criticism, and he made sure to address the comments on his latest episode of “Nightcap” with Chad Ochocinco.
“I mean, that’s what they want to do, fine, have at it. I gave my sister my word, I’m moving on,” Sharpe said.
“What they’re doing now is that they found out that Shannon is the hot thing. They using the same joke. But at some point in time it’s gone get old and people are going to get tired of y’all saying that Shannon gay, and Shannon this, and you going to have to get back to telling jokes. Please tell me you’re not running out of jokes,” Sharpe said.

The first comedian to call out Sharpe was Mike Epps during one of his comedy sets earlier in February.
“That n—- Shannon Sharpe called me trying to do an interview,” Epps said. “I said ‘No Madea, I ain’t doing no interview. You not gone look across from me and look at my balls when I’m sitting down.’ I thought he was going to attack Katt.”
That ended with Sharpe and Epps coming face-to-face with each other during the 2024 NBA All-star Weekend, where they shook hands and made up from the back-and-forth they had on social media.
