Megan Thee Stallion went viral for her appearance at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, Japan on March 2.
The rapper and Houston native is known for her love of anime as it is a major factor in her brand. At the awards show, Thee Stallion came out on stage and presented the Anime of the Year Award to “Jojutsu Kaisen.” According to anime fans on social media, she appeared as Bruno Bucciarati, one of the main characters from the anime “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Part V: Vento Aureo.”

The clip of Thee Stallion walking onto the stage and presenting the award got a million views on X, formerly known as Twitter, in less than five hours.
“I’m so excited,” Thee Stallion said when she first arrived at the microphone. “First of all, congratulations to all of the honorees tonight. This was such an amazing year for anime, and it was a testament to the talented creators seated in this room tonight. And shout out to all of the anime fans watching from all around the world. I love the chance they get to vote for these awards and we really get to find out what the fans are vibing to.”
She also spoke about her love of anime on the red carpet where she said she watches the genre of television in her free time to unwind. She enjoys the action of anime, and one of her favorite animes is “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.”
