Ice Spice has revealed the advice Taylor Swift gave her.
The rapper — whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston — previously refused to spill on the exact advice she received from the pop superstar. However, she has now revealed that the “Anti-Hero” hitmaker told her to just “keep making music and everything will be fine.”
“When I was in the studio with Taylor, like, I’ll never forget. She told me, ‘No matter what, just keep making music and everything’s going to be fine,'” she said to Billboard.
“I was like: ‘You [mess] with my project?’ Like, what? She’s so sweet — I was so obsessed with how humble she was and willing to work. She gives me so much advice — we talk all the time and she’s so funny … But I can’t say what she be telling me,” she previously told The Guardian.
The pair teamed up on the remix of Swift’s hit “Karma” last May.
Ice Spice also revealed that her debut album, Y2K, is nearing completion.
“Yes, there is going to be an album this year. This year, I’m so excited. It’s called Y2K. It’s almost finished. So, I’m really excited,” Spice said.
The “Barbie World” hitmaker — who performed with Swift during the New Jersey dates of her “Eras” tour — has also become close friends with fellow rap star Nicki Minaj and “loves” to be able to talk to the “Super Bass” singer about things she cannot talk about when the cameras are on.
“She be telling me to learn from her mistakes — just watching her in general, if you pay close enough attention, you gonna see what you should do. I love to talk to her about things that I can’t talk about publicly — it just means so much to be able to have somebody like her,” Spice said.
“I’m just happy to be a part of such a big movement and to be able to contribute to the culture. I’m willing to try whatever, you know what I’m saying? I’m young – I’m gonna try everything,” she added.
