Once a viral AAU teammate of Bronny’s, Jah Jackson concludes OTE career

Big man dominates prep league, looks to NBA now

Jahzere Jackson has set the standard for winning at Overtime Elite. In the league’s third season, the big man has won three of the league’s championships.

Jackson is 20 years old and a year out of high school, so his career at OTE is over, and the next step for him is the pros. He’s a 6-foot-11 big man with a dominant post-up game in an era of seven-foot basket-facing perimeter-defending alien hybrids like Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama.

When he was 14, he went viral as a young AAU teammate of Bronny James. There was a photo of LeBron James looking up to him surprised at how big the young athlete was.

Jackson also went viral for looking like a man among boys at age 14.

Now, he is a solidified OTE pioneer.

After his third championship and second with the City Reapers, Jackson spoke to rolling out about it all.

What was it like to finish your OTE career with a championship?

I feel great to be able to finish out my year with a championship. It’s a great feeling to fight with my teammates, overcome adversity, and just come out with a dub.

What has your journey been like growing up in the spotlight?

It’s been great having a great support system backing and guiding me through the ins and outs and [helping me understand] what it is.

What has this experience been like for you living in Atlanta for the past couple of years?

It’s been a great learning experience on and off the court. Physically and mentally, I’ve grown as a person and [in my understanding] of basketball. The business of basketball, as well. So, I feel like [OTE prepares you] for all of that.

What should NBA teams expect from you?

I’m going to play hard and play defense. I’m going to do whatever it takes to win the game. I’m a good all-around teammate.
