Two lives have been lost, and now, multiple online conversations are being had about drunk driving.

Around 2:05 a.m. on March 17, the Howard County Police in Maryland reported an Acura was traveling in the wrong direction before being hit by two cars, a 2010 Subaru and a 2004 Lincoln Town Car. The driver of the Acura was 29-year-old Naysha Jackson; 60-year-old Dawn Eden was driving the Subaru. Both women died in the accident. The initial report of the accident indicated Jackson wasn’t wearing her seat belt. The driver in the Lincoln was not injured.

Jackson’s story went viral as her friends mourned her publicly on social media. Other users posted messages about how unpredictable life can be because Jackson posted a selfie and was active on her Instagram story documenting events of the night in the final moments of her journey on Earth.

Then came the speculation.

While detectives are still investigating the cause of the accident, many social media users pointed out a few of her past posts about her appearing to admit to driving drunk on multiple occasions.

“I drive so much faster when I’m drunk,” she posted on June 24, 2015.

“I’m still tripping that I got so f—- up Saturday that I don’t remember going to my car, driving home or even Rhakhiyyhea staying the night at my house 😂😭,” she posted on Dec. 16, 2021. “Like who got her drunk a– out the car? How [did] I even park my car?”

Her final Instagram Story was her holding a drink.

Jackson’s mother then logged on her X account and posted multiple videos from the scene to prove her daughter wasn’t driving on the wrong side of the road, regardless of the police report.

Other friends and social media users defended Jackson because all of the facts are not out yet and the investigation is still ongoing.

“People playing with Naysha’s name on the internet kinda crazy to me for real,” Baltimore artist La’ Matic posted. “This is why I don’t play internet games with people. That was a good woman daughter and mother.”

Then, others entered the conversation. They argued that the ones criticizing Jackson for allegedly driving under the influence at the time of her fatal accident might not have room to disparage her.

“Y’all m———— act like y’all don’t drink & drive,” @_ErkyRy posted. “Like CUT THE BULLS—! You b—– and n—— drunk every day, and drive talking about, ‘Thats when you drive the best!’ GO TO HELL.”

“So, y’all never drunk and drove?” @TerrellZiamore posted. He admitted he had when he was younger when someone asked if he ever did.

“People in the comments saying they don’t care when drunk drivers pass away is so crazy,” @MysticalHottie posted. “She is still a person. We all have been irresponsible before; her bad decision cost a life. But it cost hers, too. She’s still a person. Y’all choose morality over humanity sometimes … sick.”
