Lauren London shared a beautiful message in tribute to Nipsey Hussle, her long-time romantic partner and father of her 7-year-old son, Kross, over the Easter weekend to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Hussle’s passing.

On Sunday, March 31 the actress and model shared a photo of the late rapper along with a heartfelt message regarding the dread she faces leading up to March 31, the day the 33-year-old rapper and entrepreneur was gunned down in 2019 outside his Marathon clothing store in South Central Los Angeles.

“If you know me, you know March is always tough for me,” London wrote. “Thirty-one days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024. Interesting … considering your name #GodWillRise. Energy never dies. I love you. Eternal.”

Eric Holder Jr. was convicted of Hussle’s murder and was given a sentence of 60 years to life by a Los Angeles judge.

According to numerous accounts, Holder attempted to speak with Hussle outside his story when Hussle told him that he can’t really speak with him because Holder was accused of being a snitch. Holder then angrily left the area but returned a short time later before shooting the rapper 10 times and wounding two others.

London spoke with People magazine a short time after Holder’s verdict was handed down and told the outlet that healing is an up-and-down process.

“I also don’t want to give a misconception that I’m at peace and I’m walking around on a cloud,” London said at the time.

“I have to wake up with the intention of this every day because there are days I don’t want to, and I’m like angry about it,” she affirmed. “And that’s what healing is. It is up and down, side to side, all over the place. You know what I mean? And with each new level, there’s something else.”
