Michelle Buteau (“Survival of the Thickest”) and Ilana Glazer (“Broad City”) are teaming up for a hilarious buddy comedy called Babes, that also examines the ways dynamics in a friendship can change when impending motherhood is thrown in the mix.


The film follows childhood best friends Dawn (Buteau) and Eden (Glazer) and how their friendship and individual lives are turned upside down when the whimsical Eden gets pregnant after a one-night stand and decides she’s wants to be a mother.


What follows is a humorous yet heartfelt rollercoaster of a ride showcasing female friendship, a delve into the experiences of pregnancy and motherhood, and side-splitting antics that will keep audiences in stitches.

Directed by Pamela Adlon and co-written by Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz, the film also stars Hasan Minhaj, John Carroll Lynch, Oliver Platt, Sandra Bernhard, and Stephan James.


Babes will open in theaters on May 17.
