“Bridgerton” is finally on its way back and the drama inside the halls of Regency London is at an all-time high.

The hit series from Shondaland Productions picks up where it left off as the trailer takes us right into the middle of the tension between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after she swears him off and they begin the search for a suitable husband for her all while trying hard to ignore the growing feelings between them and everything else at play that keeps them apart.

Long a champion of diversity and inclusion, show creator Shonda Rhimes continues her efforts to present a well-rounded group of characters from all ethnicities and walks of life as the new season will feature a host a new cast members including Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich), Kathryn Drysdale (Genevieve Delacroix) and Sam Phillips (Lord Debling).

Filmed entirely in London and based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling books, the latest season will play close to the events as they unfold in “Romancing Mister Bridgerton”, the fourth book of Quinn’s period-set novels. Jess Brownell (“Inventing Anna”, “Scandal”) takes over as showrunner with Adjoa Andoh, Bessie Carter, Florence Hunt, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, and Will Tilston among the series regulars all set to return.

Netflix will air season three of “Bridgerton” in two parts with Part 1 set to premiere on May 13 followed by Part 2 of the show being released on June 13.
