Tiffany Haddish says she’s in a better place after getting in trouble with the law last year.

In recently announcing a new book titled, I Curse You With Joy, the actor told People about discovering that she has endometriosis and how the diagnosis helped her connect the dots to understand why she miscarried eight times.

Doctors previously told her the chronic pain she dealt with was caused by “a dent in [her] uterus.”

“It turns out it’s not a dent they saw on the ultrasound,” the Girls Trip star said. “It was endo that was hanging down. It looked like a dent but it was just extra layers.”

One of the major side effects of endometriosis is a heightened risk of miscarriage. Haddish mostly recently miscarried last year in which she recalled there being “so much blood” that the episode was elevated to where doctors “performed a D&C [dilation and curettage, a procedure to remove pregnancy tissue].”

Elsewhere, Haddish hilariously talks about her journey into sobriety in the wake of her 2023 arrest for driving under the influence and how her sobriety has been instrumental in her celibacy.

“With alcohol, [my mind] would just be like, ‘You’re horny, let’s just do it.’ This is my challenge to people. Stop drinking for six months and just see how your life changes,” she said before joking in jest. “I was waking up next to ugly men!”

The award-winning comedian got serious in speaking on her recent arrests and said though the ordeal was a tough lesson, it was also necessary.

“I hated that I had to go through that, but I had to so I could create better, know better, and do better,” Haddish said solemnly.

I Curse You With Joy is set to be released on May 7.
