Legendary actresses Alfre Woodard, Diane Keaton, and Kathy Bates are going to camp.
The veteran trio will lead a star-studded ensemble cast in the upcoming comedy, Summer Camp. A touching tale of friendship and reconnection, the movie introduces us to Mary (Woodard), Nora (Keaton), and Ginny (Bates), a group of lifelong friends who for a time, made a tradition of doing summer vacations as a group. Over the years, their lives begin to pull them apart, so when a summer sleepaway camp reunion comes around, the ladies reconvene and pick up where they left off with comedic results.
“All I ever really wanted to do is go outside and play,” Woodard told PEOPLE about the film that sees the ladies taking part in various outdoor activities like horseback riding and river rafting.
Written and directed by Castille Landon, the film gives a delightful mix of emotions and laughter via a stellar ensemble cast that includes Betsy Sodaro, Beverly D’Angelo, Dennis Haysbert, Eugene Levy, Josh Peck, Nicole Richie, and Victoria Rowell.
Summer Camp is scheduled for theatrical release on May 31.
