Zoë Kravitz is taking the leap into the director’s chair.

Her directorial film debut, Blink Twice, is a classic tale of all that glitters not being gold told via an impulsive getaway that quickly turns into a nightmare scenario.

Tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) makes the acquaintance of cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) while trying to woo her at his ritzy fundraising gala before inviting her on a trip with friends to his private island. What starts as a once-in-a-lifetime indulgence in the lap of luxury quickly turns into a high-stakes fight for survival when strange things begin to happen and it becomes apparent that her life is in danger.

Also co-written by Kravitz along with E.T. Feigenbaum, the harrowing film boasts a powerful ensemble cast, including Christian Slater, Geena Davis, Haley Joe Osment, Kyle MacLachlan, Liz Caribel and Simon Rex among others.

Blink Twice is set to hit theaters on Aug. 23.
