Usher has had to cancel the 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival.

The sold-out event scheduled for May 4 with the stacked lineup of popular R&B and hip-hop acts from the early 2000s has been canceled in Las Vegas due to strong winds.

“The National Weather Service has now issued a high wind warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts of potentially more than 60 mph,” festival representatives wrote in an official statement. “Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow’s Lovers & Friends Festival.”

The announcement was sent out at 9:47 p.m. PT, which is 12:47 a.m. ET.

“This was an incredibly heartbreaking decision to make as we are aware that fans have traveled from all over the world to enjoy this incredible lineup of superstars and have been looking forward to this event for several months,” the festival statement read. “We’ve worked hard to create an amazing event for you, and we are just as disappointed as you are.”

All ticket holders who purchased tickets directly through the festival’s official portal will receive refunds within 30 days.

This year’s lineup featured headliners Usher, Janet Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Nelly Furtado, Nas, Mary J Blige, Ciara, Ludacris, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Nelly, TLC, Akon, Ne-Yo, T-Pain, M.I.A., Timbaland, Keyshia Cole, Brandy, Monica and Eve.

Other performers included Kelly Rowland, Jodeci, Robin Thicke, Tyrese, Fat Joe, T.I., Ma$e, E-40, SWV, Cam’Ron, Rick Ross, Jeezy, Ginuwine, Lupe Fiasco, Mya and Keri Hilson.
