Kiersey Clemons gets wedding day jitters in ‘The Young Wife’

Wedding day jitters rise to a whole new level in award-winning director Tayarisha Poe’s new buzz-worthy film, The Young Wife.


Starring Kiersey Clemons and Leon Bridges, the movie centers on Celestina (Clemons) on the day of her “non-wedding” that is quickly unraveling with pressure from family and friends as well her own tiny bits of doubt that are creeping into her mind on what is supposed to be the happiest day of her life.


Touching upon familiar themes of personal struggles and dealing with the expectations of society, the film also features a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Sheryl Lee Ralph, Aida Osman, Judith Light, Kelly Marie Tran, and Michaela Watkins along with Brandon Micheal Hall, Connor Paolo, Jon Rudnitsky, Lukita Maxwell, and Sandy Honig to round out the cast.

The Young Wife will be released digitally on May 31.
