Apple is reportedly set to launch new smart glasses, aiming to rival Meta’s Ray-Ban models.

The company is purportedly planning a new product lineup for 2027, leveraging its research and development investment in the Vision Pro headset’s visual intelligence, as reported by Bloomberg.

Additionally, the report suggests that Apple is developing AirPods equipped with outward-facing cameras to enhance visual intelligence features.

In other Apple-related news, the tech behemoth is reportedly working on an updated version of the iPhone SE which could hit shops as early as next year.

Boffins at the firm are said to be putting together plans to launch a fourth generation of the classic SE in 2025, with reports suggesting it will look more like the iPhone 14 than the current model – which is closer to the iPhone 8.

According to 9to5mac.com, the new SE will boast the same 1170 x 2532 display resolution as the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and include Face ID for the first time.

The website also reported the handset is likely to be compatible with new Apple Intelligence features and feature the same camera as the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus as well as having Apple’s first 5G modem.

It’s believed Apple will be planning to announce the new phone in spring 2025 with prices increasing from that of the third generation, which currently starts at $429.

The new SE phones will reportedly cost from between $459 and $499.

It comes after the release of the new iPhone 16 last month with Apple promising a phone that features the faster, more efficient A18 and A18 Pro chips meaning Apple Intelligence is accelerated, which acts as a personal intelligence system and allows the use of AI.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said before revealing the iPhone 16: “The next generation of iPhone has been designed for Apple Intelligence from the ground up.”
