Tiffany Haddish got kicked out of ballet class for swearing.
The controversial actor was 27 when she was asked to leave a dance class because of her use of bad language. She never took up the art again.
“I auditioned for a ballet-style dance film, and I did not get hired,” she told Us Weekly. “But I also got kicked out of ballet class.”
The interviewer asked why she was thrown out.
“For cussing. That s*** hurts!” she admitted.
But Haddish still enjoys watching ballet.
“I go to ballet. I go to the recital just to, like, smite the teacher,” she joked.
And the Girls Trip star enjoys other dance classes, even if she isn’t “good” at it.
“I do it at home alone all the time. I’m not good at it,” she said. “I take barre classes. That’s my jam!”
In September, Haddish walked the runway for Monse’s New York Fashion Week show. She said she was delighted to be a part of it.
“I’ve always loved fashion and always wanted to be a part of it,” she said of her surprise appearance. “My grandmother, back in the 1950s and 1960s, was a model.”
The Haunted Mansion actor learned a lot about fashion from her grandmother. As a result, Haddish said she enjoys making her own clothes as a result of her upbringing.
“She taught me certain ways you should stand,” Haddish said. “We didn’t have a whole lot of money, ’cause models back then weren’t making a whole lot of money. She taught me a lot about fashion and how to make clothes. I love making clothes and things like that. So, fashion is a part of who I am — and it’s how you express yourself.”
