Florida A&M University punctuated its homecoming with a 52-28 win against Texas Southern University in a weekend celebration filled with energy on and off the field.
General Motors’ Chevrolet display showcased innovative technologies for homes and vehicles. GM Energy, which develops residential energy systems and electric vehicles (EVs), featured one of the event’s prominent exhibits.
The company demonstrated its Home System bundle Saturday, including the GM Energy PowerBank, highlighting potential developments in home energy. The system’s bidirectional charging allows users to charge their GM electric vehicles and store electricity at home.
GM displayed the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV 2RS and Silverado EV RST — two vehicles central to its electric future. The Silverado featured Texas Southern’s colors while the Equinox wore FAMU’s orange and green. The Equinox offers more than 319 miles on a full battery, while the Silverado exceeds 440 miles, addressing range concerns common among EV customers.
In the Chevrolet tent, staff educated fans about their vehicles while offering ice cream to combat the heat. The display included jerseys, helmets, and team gear for photo opportunities, along with electric fans for cooling.
While FAMU dominated on the field, GM showcased its advances in home energy and electric vehicle technology.
