Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good shocked the red carpet crowd in Los Angeles when the two announced on Sunday, Nov. 17 that they are engaged to be married.
Good, 43, flashed a large diamond on her ring finger while the Jumping the Broom actress and the Creed III star appeared together at the EBONY Power 100 Gala.
It is apropos that the couple made the world aware of their intentions to be husband and wife because this was the event they met at, albeit under interesting circumstances.
“EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms — in the unisex bathroom,” Good told E! News about that chance meeting two years ago.
The news comes just days are wild rumors swirled about on social media that the two had broken up.
Good and Majors, 35, became official in May 2023, months after he was arrested for domestic violence against his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. A jury found Majors guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December of last year.
Good and Majors are getting married despite the wave of opposition from Good’s friends and family members as well as the general public. Good, however, remained unbothered by the criticisms as she was smitten by the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star.
“I take everyone’s opinion and advice into account, for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life,” she said on the “Today” show in July. “I’m the one who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and give God an account of what I did. So, I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. I also want to live the life that I want to live.
“The support we’ve been able to give to each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care, and the thoughtfulness,” Good later added, “it’s been really wonderful.”
