On the heels of Women’s History Month, we recognize Carrie J. Clark, an exceptional leader whose profound impact spans technology, healthcare, education, and community service. Her journey exemplifies the power of visionary leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

As System Director of IT Operations at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Clark stands at the intersection of healthcare and technology, where her strategic leadership has transformed IT service delivery. Overseeing critical departments, including the Project Management Office, IT Asset and Software Management, IT Service Management Applications, and Business Relationship Management, she has orchestrated complex technological initiatives that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Since 1995, Carrie has shared her extensive knowledge as an adjunct professor, teaching information technology, quality management, and project management at universities throughout Detroit. This commitment to education reflects her belief in developing the next generation of technology leaders and her dedication to closing the digital divide.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carrie’s commitment to community service is exemplary. As a board member for CODE313, she helps create pathways to technology careers for young people, empowering future tech innovators. Her leadership roles with the Project Management Institute, American Heart Association’s Go Red Passion Committee, and The Links, Inc. further demonstrate her dedication to service and community

Clark’s 37-year Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® membership represents one of her most significant service commitments. Currently serving as International Regional Director on the Board of Directors, she oversees chapters across 11 countries, ensuring they align with the sorority’s international programs and policies. Her previous role as Great Lakes Regional Director saw her providing strategic leadership for chapters across five states.  She has championed initiatives strengthening governance, promoting diversity and inclusion, and enhancing the sorority’s global impact throughout her tenure.

Amidst her professional achievements and service commitments, Carrie finds strength and joy in her family—her husband of 28 years, Mark, and their two sons, Ian Marc and Noah Stone. Her membership at Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit grounds her service-oriented approach to life and leadership.

Carrie J. Clark’s remarkable journey illustrates how technical expertise, visionary leadership, and heartfelt service can converge to create lasting impact. As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, her story reminds us of the powerful contributions women make in traditionally male-dominated fields like technology and business leadership.

Through her work, Carrie continues to break barriers, build bridges, and create opportunities for others—especially women and underrepresented communities—to thrive in technology and leadership. Her legacy serves as an inspiration for current and future generations of leaders who aspire to use their talents and influence to uplift others and transform communities.
