There’s magic happening at Macy’s and it’s not just on the sales room floor.  With over 800 stores across the nation Macy’s is not only influential but well recognized and respected. Behind the scenes of one of the most well known stores in the world is a workshop but it’s no secret.

Macy’s is known for housing top quality items  in everything from clothing to home goods, but what they are also known for is producing some of the world’s best and brightest executives in the retail industry. If innovation had a poster child it would be Macy’s.

It’s clear when you walk into Macy’s that there is a commitment to minority and women vendors. Through the nationally recognized Vendor Diversity Program, Macy’s prepares eager and enterprising women and minorities to deliver above and beyond in the arenas of sales and profits and  customer service.

Building on the upward momentum of the Vendor Diversity Program, Macy’s has created a higher tiered program, The Workshop which aims at developing high potential minority and/or women business owners. The first graduating class of 2012 began launching lines at Macy’s within the same year, proving the program a success.

The application process is currently taking place and applications for the May 2014 Workshop class are due February 2, 2014.
