Chris Brown is no stranger to criticism about his attitude or his music, but after performing this weekend at the Billboard Music Awards, the controversial singer was blasted by stars like Pink and Chrissy Teigen for failing to turn up some live vocals during his set.
While Brown was turning out a high-powered, dance-heavy performance of “Turn Up the Music” at the awards show, Pink took to Twitter to mock Brown for lip-syncing.
“One day if I lip-sync, I hope I do it as well as him,” the 32-year-old singer tweeted during the show.
Though many other viewers also called out Brown on Twitter, several of his fans were enraged by Pink’s tweet and bashed the powerhouse singer for her criticism of Brown.
“Oh my lord, its so easy…its so d—n easy. Keep it coming people, this is some good reading …” said Pink to her detractors.
And she wasn’t the only one to slam Brown. Her husband, Carey Hart, also got in on the action.
“I’m pretty sure I saw my wife [do] that same performance, but she was three months pregnant and actually sang the song,” he wrote, before addressing a fellow biker. “If any of your guys are riding on Chris Brown performance, please fire them.”
John Legend’s fiancée also joined in on the bashing, tweeting, “Live singing is a helluva thing.”
And after being bashed by Brown’s fans, Chrissy Teigen eventually wrote a long-winded response to her critics.
“I’ve had comments ranging from ‘kill yourself you stupid HO’ to ‘gold digging c—t’ ‘get a f—king job,’ etc. because I don’t like him?… seriously. this isn’t your f—king job. You guys are too young for this s—t. too f—king young. stop being psychotic. be strong women. listen to opinions without spewing pure maliciousness…John [Legend] has gotten numerous comments about him needed to “leash” me or “control” me. FROM WOMEN. please stop this. What are you even doing this for? some good music and dancing? good god. DO BETTER,” Teigen fired back.
To everyone’s surprise, Brown decided not to start a Twitter war and simply dismissed Pink and his other critics.
“Must be too bright outside! I’m finding the “shade” and keeping cool! Love and blessings!” tweeted Brown.
