This weekend, Chris Rock revealed the shocking news that he and his wife, Malaak Compton-Rock, are divorcing after 19 years of marriage. Although the couple released statements describing their divorce as amicable, a new report claims that the divorce is getting nasty over custody issues.
According to TMZ, court documents show that when Rock filed for divorce from Malaak, he complained that she hasn’t allowed him to regularly see their two daughters, Lola Simone, 12, and Zahra Savannah, 10. Rock is now asking for shared legal and physical custody of their two daughters.
Rock also discusses finances his divorce documents and claims that the prenup they signed has expired because their marriage lasted more than 18 years. Rock claims that a month ago he and Malaak identified all of the community property that will be split between them.
It also seems that Rock may be trying to reduce the amount of spousal support that he gives Malaak because he also claims that she has the “ability to work and contribute to her own support.”
