The rumors that all-world NBA superstar LeBron James and his longtime girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, have broken up been raging on entertainment blogs for several weeks now.
But major online publications, including Miami.com, examiner.com, eurweb.com and blackamericaweb.com have also entered the speculation domain. They have taken note that Brinson, 26, who’s been in a relationship with the basketball great since they were in high school in Akron, Ohio, just south of Cleveland, has not been seen out with James in several weeks now.
Most glaringly, Brinson, who has taken many photos with the real basketball wives (pun intended) of the Miami Heat in the past, was reportedly conspicuously absent from two major events in the past three week: the NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston and the Heat’s congratulatory championship visit to the White House in Washington.
Moreover, blackamericaweb.com reports that, according to Brinson’s own Twitter feed, she was “roughing” it on Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles with girlfriends while James starred in the all-star weekend.
James, 28, reportedly proposed to Brinson a little more than a year ago, about midnight as New Year’s Day 2012 rang in, and they were due to get married in late summer of 2012. Miami.com reports that Brinson was seen shopping for wedding dresses in the Manhattan borough of New York City in the spring of last year. But James got tied up with the Miami Heat championship celebrations and then preparation for the London Olympic games.
Further fueling the rumors is that Brinson, the mother of James’ sons LeBron Jr., 8, and Bryce, 5, was reportedly in negotiations with several major news organizations last year for exclusive coverage of the marriage, but that talks halted without explanation and have not picked back up.
No one is reportedly talking in James’ camp and calls to his lawyer have not been returned.
While it is our hope that all is well with King James and Brinson and that the rumors turn out to be untrue, we would like to show some of the best photos of the couple together.
