More than that is this: why do rappers continue to pack their buses with illicit drugs and weapons and then drive to border checkpoints, knowing that every police force in the country has a “secret” hip hop squad?
Last night near the city of Sierra Blanca, Texas, police and drug-sniffing dogs raided the “Country Grammar” rapper’s bus and — surprise! — found lots of drugs, including heroin, a loaded gun, and a massive amount of of weed.
Nelly’s bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint, and a police canine detected the presence of drugs. Apparently, 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over 10 pounds of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag (an amount roughly the size of a large bed pillow) were found, along with a loaded .45 caliber pistol, according to tmz.com.
Law enforcement officials state that there were seven people riding on Nelly’s bus at the time and they were all detained during the search. Luckily for Nelly, when the drugs were uncovered, a man miraculously came forward and said that all of the drugs and the loaded pistol were his. Isn’t that convenient?
The fall guy’s name is Brian Keith Jones and he was dutifully placed under arrest, while Nelly and the remaining five were let go. Again, how convenient.
My last question is this: why would you go to this checkpoint loaded on narcotics if so many other celebs have been busted here before you?
Here is a list of other entertainers who were busted at the same checkpoint.
