Actress and TV personality Sherri Shepherd will host the 42nd Annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards this year at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre. This is the first time the awards show has not been held in either Memphis or Nashville, Tenn.
The awards show, which will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. EST, will be broadcast on GMC, America’s favorite network for uplifting music and entertainment, on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. EST.
The GMA announced yesterday from the Grand Salon of the Fox Theatre that TobyMac and Chris Tomlin lead the diverse group of artist nominees with six nominations each, while Jason Crabb nabs five, and Francesca Battistelli pulls in four nods from
Mac, Tomlin, Crabb and Battistelli lead in artist nominations. Producer-songwriter Wayne Haun leads all nominations with seven.
Artist of the Year nominees are Natalie Grant, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Marvin Sapp, Battistelli, Crabb, Mac and Tomlin.
New Artist of the Year nominees are Audrey Assad, Chris August, Forever Jones, John Mark McMillan, Kerrie Roberts and Kristian Stanfill.
Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year will again be voted on by the fans.
