Former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight who is facing charges for murder and attempted murder has offered up his defense. According to his lawyer, Matthew Fletcher, Knight is legally blind and this fact explains why he drove over the head of Terry Carter and struck Cle “Bone” Sloan with his vehicle on Jan. 29 of this year.

According to his attorney Knight is blind in his left eye and when he was attacked through his driver’s side window, he gunned his car and struck the two victims because he could not see where he was going. In addition, according to his lawyer, Knight had a right to “stand his ground” in defense of his life during the assault.

“This was a literal presentation of being blindsided. He was attacked on his blind side. To me it seems obvious. He’s being punched in the face, he can’t see,” Fletcher stated.

In regard to Knight standing his ground, Fletcher states “If you are reasonably in fear for your life, with two or three men attacking you, you have the right not only to fight back but to pursue the person who put you in that peril.”
