Earlier this week, news already revealed that Ian Halperin’s new book, Whitney & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame, makes shocking claims about Bobbi Kristina’s alleged drug-filled teenage years. Now more details about the book have been revealed and one includes accusations from Halperin that Whitney Houston was once extorted over secrets about her sexuality.

As previously reported, Halperin claims in the book that Houston’s drug addiction was fueled by her inner struggles with her sexuality and her alleged secret romance with her longtime best friend and personal assistant, Robyn Crawford.

According to the NY Post, in the book, Halperin also claims that on the eve of the release of Houston’s box office smash The Bodyguard, a Chicago lawyer tried to extort her for $250,000 over secrets about her alleged relationship with Crawford, according to a redacted FBI file.

Halperin alleges that the lawyer told an FBI agent that he had “knowledge of intimate details regarding Whitney Houston’s romantic relationships and will go public with the information.”

However, Houston’s father, John Houston, intervened before the situation went public and he “settled the matter by sending a confidentiality agreement almost immediately,” although it was “unclear how much money was paid to silence the person and whether he met the initial demand for $250,000.”

The extortion attempt came during a time when Houston was already swamped with lesbian rumors and that same year Houston wed her then-husband, Bobby Brown, which, whether intentional or not, helped to silence the rumors. However, the book claims that on the day of the wedding, Houston gave Crawford a black Porsche as a token of their friendship.

But the allegations don’t end there. Read what Halperin has to say about Crawford after the cut.
