Musiq Soulchild and Syleena Johnson unofficially kicked off a frenetic BET Hip-Hop Awards week with the album release party for their duet album 9INE at the Museum Bar on Tuesday evening that included industry folks, friends, family and a visit from the eccentric, fun-loving costar of “R&B Divas” Keke Wyatt.
The R&B and reggae-infused album was christened with the title 9INE because it was conceived and executed in a remarkable nine short days. The infectious CD, which coursed through the two-floor nightclub, is also marked by having nine songs — three from Johnson, three from Musiqu and three more as duets between the two. And the album rocks.
The night included Syleena delivering a soulful and sensual birthday rendition for her husband’s birthday before the couple and friends retreated to the VIP section on the 2nd floor overlooking the expansive club where folks rocked to Syleena’s and Musiq’s 9INE album.
