MSNBC anchor suggests someone defecate in Palin’s mouth following slavery comment

MSNBC host Martin Bashir is reportedly in hot water after he suggests former Alaska governor Sarah Palin should be subjected to same vile treatment endured by slaves.

There is speculation that Bashir is not really on “vacation” as suggested by MSNBC spokesperson Lauren Skowronski, but that he’s temporarily suspended for his brash comments.

Bashir criticized Palin mid November for her remarks comparing U.S. indebtedness to China to slavery.

He said, “America’s resident dunce Sarah Palin scraping the barrel of her long-deceased mind and using her all-time favorite analogy in an attempt to sound intelligent about the national debt. Given her well-established reputation as a world-class idiot, it’s hardly surprising that she should choose to mention slavery in a way that is abominable to anyone who knows anything about its abominable history.”

Adding insult to injury, he cited the diaries of a former plantation overseer who punished slaves by having someone defecate in their mouth or urinate on their face and suggested Palin deserved the same treatment.

He apologized a few days later on Nov. 18.

MSNBC released a statement that reads: “Martin Bashir has taken responsibility publicly for his offensive commentary and also personally apologized to the Palin family.”

In an interview on FOX, Palin said MSNBC was guilty of “executive hypocrisy” because they didn’t publicly discipline Bashir for comments she considered “vile [and] evil.’

The network denies he’s suspended.
