Rohan Marley Defends His Baby’s Mother
After she was publicly blasted by Wyclef Jean in his new book, Lauryn Hill is being defended by her ex, Rohan Marley, who fathered five children with the songstress. Marley is speaking out against the Fugees singer who claims that Lauryn lied about the paternity of her baby and claimed it was his. The baby was in fact Rohan’s. “In that moment something died between us,” said Jean in his book. “I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn’t forgive that. She could no longer be my muse. Our love spell was broken.”
Since then, Hill’s remained silent about the accusations, her baby’s father turned ex-boyfriend however recently spoke on the issue with “TMZ,” saying Wyclef “knew from jump that was my son from the day [Lauryn] was pregnant,” Marley told the website. He also added that he thinks Wyclef is “just saying false things to get book headlines” and will not speak with him on the subject. Wyclef maintains that he is telling the truth.” There is no way that I would have shown up in the hospital in that circumstance to wait for a baby to be born if it was not mine,” he told TMZ. “The idea of a memoir is to tell the truth. I know that often the truth hurts, but a lie hurts even more.”
Hill recently gave birth to a sixth child in 2011. The baby was not Rohan Marley’s.
