T.I. and Diddy made headlines during the BET Hip-Hop Awards due to what occurred after the show at Compound nightclub in Atlanta. Diddy was ridiculed by T.I. for a rant against a party-goer that could have escalated into a physical altercation.
After several blogs posted false information about what really occurred, T.I., Diddy and Kenny Burns decided to set the record straight.

“Me and Puff go way, way back. That’s like a brother. Whatever was said by me was said out of love to Puff not in no intention to belittle him or check him. Puff is a grown man, he does what he wanna do but I just felt it necessary for me to separate myself from the situation that was going on. Just so people knew I wasn’t involved because of my personal circumstances. That’s the kind of activity I can’t afford to engage in right now.”
Diddy
“I’m a child of God and I should be better no matter what someone says to me. I’m sorry for the ignorant way I represented myself and us. To all my children of God…I have backslid and regressed. Forgive me for my ignorance. Pray for me pls. I know better and I am better. I have a responsibility that I promise I will live up to. And I’m more disappointed in myself than you know. I will humble myself and learn. Bottom line is I’m sorry to all! Please find it in your heart to accept my apology. I will do better and be Greater And a source of positivity! Thank y’all for listening. Thank you. Real talk. Peace.”

“[Puff] was not talking to me. He was actually going at somebody in my booth. He made a mention in a song, ‘Everybody put your bottles up,’ and my table happened to be in front of his, and we were all drinking Grey Goose. I thought I’d jump in it and put my man back where he was supposed to be so he wasn’t in harm’s way and then climb up on the ledge and holla at Puff. At the end of the day, he’s an icon of our generation. He don’t need that look.”
