Kokane of Above the Law took Ice Cube to task for the way Cube has allegedly handled the production of the highly-anticipated upcoming N.W.A. biopic. According to Kokane, Cube and the film’s producers have failed to include the family of the late Eazy E, who founded N.W.A. and Ruthless Records in the late 1980s.
After several delays over the past two-and-a-half years, the long-awaited Tupac Shakur biopic is officially set to begin filming in 2014. The date was confirmed at a reception held by the film’s production companies, with producer Randall Emmet making the official announcement.

Get On Up, the upcoming biopic about legendary soul singer James Brown, has added two more notables to the cast. Dan Aykroyd and Jill Scott have joined the production; Aykroyd will play Ben Bart, president of the agency that represented Brown for almost 50 years and Scott will play one of the Godfather of Soul’s wives. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the role was written specifically for the singer-actress.

Jones founded TLC (originally 2nd Nature) with Tionne Watkins and Lisa Lopes, the future T-Boz and Left-Eye, but was unceremoniously ousted early on in favor of Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. The film portrays Jones as a talentless footnote to the group’s beginnings, and she spoke to RO about the way the film portrayed TLC and her history.
