The beef between West Coast rappers Game and 40 Glocc rages on, and it appears to have taken a new, unsavory turn. 40 Glocc decided to provoke his longtime nemesis with an Instagram photo–and some not-at-all flattering comments about Tiffney Cambridge–Game’s ex-wife–and the kids the former couple have together.
The on-camera confrontation between Shade 45 host Sway Calloway and notoriously emotional hip-hop superstar Kanye West became a viral sensation last fall. Kanye and Sway got into a heated exchange after Sway challenged Kanye’s assertion that the fashion industry wasn’t taking him seriously. While fans may have expected some type of fallout from the supposed “beef,” Sway explained to Complex magazine that there is no feud between he and West.
A potential Jay Z and Drake rivalry has been the subject of tremendous buzz amongst hip-hop fans since the release of “We Made It,” a freestyle featuring Jay Z and Jay Electronica. Freddie Gibbs is still bitter towards his former boss and collaborator, Young Jeezy. Speaking to Noisey, Gibbs explained why he now feels that signing to Jeezy’s Corporate Thugz Entertainment was the biggest mistake he’s made in his hip-hop career. Gibbs also admits that he would be willing to move past his beef with the elder rapper if Jeezy would acknowledge his wrongdoing.
Kanye West went off on another tangent this week. The mercurial hip-hop star has become notorious for his outbursts during performances, and at the most recent stop on his Yeezus Tour, West unleashed yet another rant–this time, he aimed his wrath at two popular urban radio personalities. While performing at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center, Kanye criticized Shade 45s Sway Calloway and “The Breakfast Club” star Charlemagne Tha God.
Veteran hip-hop star Ma$e was asked about beefs, disses and who he does and does not have an issue with in hip-hop, and the former Bad Boy star revealed that he did have hard feelings towards a young star that he felt had bad-mouthed him in his music. According to Ma$e, he felt slighted by Roc Nation rapper J. Cole–and he was not happy about it.
Off-kilter rhymer Danny Brown got to recently meet one of his idols, but apparently the interaction was less-than-cordial for the rapper. Brown tweeted that he got the chance to meet Bay Area rap legend Too $hort recently in Hawaii, but the $hort Dawg more or less brushed him off. The Detroit rapper didn’t go into detail, but he made it clear that he got little-to-no-love from the rap elder statesman.
