While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been celebrating their one-year anniversary, Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, has also been celebrating her daughter’s marriage as well and she showed love to the couple on Instagram this weekend with a series of personal photos and videos. However, in a shocking turn of events, Jenner was bashed by some angry Instagram users for not using the N-word in one of her posts.

On Saturday, Jenner posted a video of the fireworks show at West and Kardashian’s the pre-wedding bash at Versailles. In the caption, Jenner changed the title of West’s “N—– In Paris” to “Great People in Paris.”

Surprisingly, some Instagram users began writing angry comments under the post, criticizing Jenner, who is obviously not black, for not writing the N-word.

One user wrote, “B—- the song is “N—- In Paris”!!! You afraid to say the n-word in 2015?!? What a stupid ugly plastic fake a– b—- you are!!”

However, another user wrote, “If she wouldve used the word ya would bash her and call her a racist so she was in a lose lose situation.”

And another white user explained, “I’m glad you didn’t use the n-word. I don’t any of us white people should ever be using it, EVEN in songs.”

We agree with the latter two in saying that Jenner chose wisely in changing the name of the song. There may be a divide between Black people on who has ownership of the word, but the reality is that we always bear the hate, history and negativity that is bound to that word every time it’s used, especially by someone outside of our community who doesn’t have to live with the history attached to it.
