A pastor in Baytown, Texas, carries a Bible and a pistol and apparently knows when to use both. According to a report by KTRK, Pastor Benny Holmes shot a man who broke into the Church of New Beginnings.

The incident occurred around 6 a.m. when Holmes was at the church on July 28. He heard a man attempting to break inside and armed himself with a weapon. Holmes confronted the intruder and shot him once near his shoulder. The man, who was later identified as Lee Marvin Blue, 27, fell to the ground and stayed at the church as Holmes called authorities. Blue was rushed to the hospital and eventually arrested on burglary charges.

This isn’t the first time Holmes has used his weapon. He pulled his gun out on a grandmother in 2014 after he caught her attempting to steal a package from his yard. Holmes later preached to his church members on how God wanted people to arm themselves.

Holmes will not be charged in the shooting.
