Is Jaden Smith caught in the middle of Amandla Steinberg and Kylie Jenner’s Twitter beef? According to reports, the Karate Kid has been unsuccessful at convincing the stars of letting bygones be bygones.
As previously reported, Stenberg blasted the reality star for posting a snap of herself via Instagram, sporting cornrows and the caption, “I woke up like disss.” What many do not know is that the 17-year-old edited her caption after originally writing “#whitegirlsdoitbetter.” As one could imagine, this did not sit well with the Hunger Games star, who earlier this year shared her thoughts on Whites in Hollywood appropriating Black culture.
“@novemberskyys when u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter,” wrote Stenberg.
It wasn’t long before Jenner’s Black followers began chiming in, criticizing Jenner for rocking a “Black” hairstyle. Only the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star had a few words of her own for the young activist. “@amandlastenberg Mad if I don’t, Mad if I do…Go hang w Jaden [Smith] or something.” wrote Jenner.
Now, a close friend to Smith tells HollywoodLife that he’s stuck in the middle. “Jaden wants to get the three of them together to talk it out and make peace,” the source continues. “Unfortunately, Kylie hasn’t cooled off yet and isn’t down with a meeting. She doesn’t want to see or talk to Amandla. When Jaden suggested a meeting she shut the idea down right away.”
The source continued, “He’s a really silly guy and he thought Kylie and Amandla’s little tiff was hilarious at first. But people are making such a huge deal out of it now and Amandla and Kylie don’t think it’s funny at all.”
On the plus side for Jenner, if we consider the Kardashian-Jenner track record, we’re sure it won’t be long before this blows over by the presence of yet another juicy scandal. After all, the Jenner, Kardashian clan is infamous for nabbing headlines.
