Chris Brown has been battling his baby’s mother, Nia Guzman, for months now over child support payments for their one-year-old daughter, Royalty. And according to a new report, Brown is now taking major legal action by filing for paternity for Royalty to ensure that he has a better shot at controlling the monthly child support amount.
As previously reported, Brown has been paying Guzman $2,500 a month to take care of Royalty, which he believes is more than fair for their child. However, Guzman has complained that Brown is cheating their daughter out of money and has demanded that he pay her $15,000 a month instead.
According to TMZ, Brown recently filed documents in Houston to establish paternity of Royalty, that way he can fight for child support and custody of Royalty in court.
Sources say that Brown wants a judge to set the child support because he believes that amount will be closer to $2,500.
The sources also say Brown has complained that Guzman has been keeping him from seeing his daughter and that he wants a judge to set clear custody guidelines to stop Guzman from interfering with his relationship with Royalty.
Well, this sounds like this could turn into yet another messy celebrity custody and child support battle. And considering that it’s Brown we’re talking about, we’re inclined to say we’ll hear more about this in the tabloids.
