While we are pretty sure he wasn’t in danger of counting on Jay Z and Beyoncé’s support pending another push for the U.S. presidency, it’s safe to say that former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee can count on the power couple’s vote going elsewhere for sure now.
In a forthcoming coming book by the Fox News talk-show host titled God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, Huckabee shares his feelings about Bey Z’s steam performance of “Drunk In Love” at last year’s Grammy’s and openly wonders if Jay is essentially pimping out Beyoncé.
“Beyoncé is incredibly talented — gifted, in fact,” Huckabee wrote. “She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer –— without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom. Jay Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”
It appears as though Beyoncé has been on Huckabee’s mind a lot lately as he also threw shots at the First Family for letting daughters Sasha and Malia be fans of Beyoncé in a interview with People magazine last month.
“With the first lady so concerned about making sure her daughters’ bellies don’t ingest unhealthy food, how can she let their brains ingest obnoxious and toxic mental poison in the form of song lyrics?” Huckabee wrote. “If lived out, those lyrics would be far more devastating to someone’s health than a cupcake.”
Maybe the conservative Republican has targeted Beyoncé for political reasons.
Though he hasn’t made an official announcement of his intentions regarding a 2016 White House run, Huckabee did end his Fox News program earlier this month to further fuel speculation.
“I cannot bring myself to rule out another presidential run,” Huckabee told viewers during his last broadcast. “So as we say in television, stay tuned.”
Huckabee’s book, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, is scheduled to be released Jan. 20.
