Miami’s “Teflon Don” Rick Ross maybe riding high on the waves of success but apparently he was literally too “high” when he was arrested in Shreveport, La., on March 25 for possession of marijuana.
According to nbcmiami.com, the arrest occurred around 11 p.m. at a hotel. The police report claims that officers were led to Ross’ room by a strong smell of marijuana and once they’d entered his room, they found approximately one gram of marijuana lying in plain sight.
Ross was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana first offense. He was released shortly after on a misdemeanor summons.
Ross was in Shreveport to perform at a local club with the evening’s celebrity guest host being Philadelphia Eagles starter Jason Peters. And in an ironic twist of fate, Peters was also arrested that night for a loud noise violation and resisting arrest after an incident in which he refused to turn his car stereo down.
Ross is currently on the road with fellow hip-hop heavyweights Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Travis Porter for the “I Am Music II” tour. Hopefully, Ross will be a little more careful about where he smokes or at least open the balcony door when he does it.
