“When the president got in office, France didn’t want to have anything to do with us. We didn’t have the strong alliance with other countries around the world. A lot of countries disagreed with George Bush’s choice to bomb Iraq. But with the Libya situation, the president did the right thing. He created an alliance. He was able to build those relationships with other countries.
“In Libya, Moammar Gadhafi was killing his own people, so the coalition got together. The council told Gadhafi that he was wrong for killing his people. That’s when the UN stepped in. The UN was created to keep peace around the world. But the UN will go after you if you do [the] things that Gadhafi has done. People are upset with the U.S., but they must understand the politics of it all. France was a country that did not participate in the past war. But they were the first ones to send planes over to Libya. That shows that our president is doing things how it should be done.”
