Dallas Is Next Stop for Filmmaker Jade Jenise Dixon’s Workshop

Dallas Is Next Stop for Filmmaker Jade Jenise Dixon's WorkshopIt was a hit in Atlanta and New York City. Now, filmmaker  has her sites set on Dallas, Texas next. She is bringing her successful acting and filmmaking workshops to Dallas on May 14, 2011. Her workshop includes a networking mixer, lunch, information about the business of the industry, film and television pitch opportunities and cold readings. Dixon’s enthusiasm for a full workshop experience is apparent, “I think the networking mixer is just as important as the workshop because you never know who else is in the room!” As a bonus, attendees will have the opportunity to audition for her nest feature film, or to pitch their TV or film idea for an on-the-spot critique.

Called beautiful and talented by the Los Angeles Times, Dixon’s film Truth Hall was labeled “festival winner” by Daily Variety. The film was written, directed, and produced by Dixon and is now in heavy rotation on the BET network. Other films include Big Ain’t Bad, Truth Be Told (with Regina King and Blair Underwood), Full Ride and How I Spent My Summer Vacation.
