Mike Tyson's Tattoo in 'Hangover Part 2' Spawns Lawsuit

Mike Tyson was a major part of the ultra-successful comedy blockbuster Hangover. It looks like he’s going to be a major part of the sequel as well – whether the filmmakers want him to be or not.

When Ed Helms’ character in The Hangover Part 2 awakens unaware that he is sporting a facial tattoo similar to Mike Tyson’s, his friend sees it and warns, “You’re gonna freak out, but it’s gonna be OK.”

The makers of the film may be OK, but they also might be lighter in the wallet soon. A Missouri artist responsible for Tyson’s distinctive tattoo has filed suit, accusing Warner Bros. of copyright infringement, the Associated Press reports.

“This is taking somebody’s art and making unauthorized copy or unauthorized derivative work from that art,” said Pete Salsich, the artist’s lawyer.

A Warner Bros. spokesman declined comment. They won’t talk, but the tattoo artist is probably saying “cha-ching!”
