After watching Sunday night’s explosive episode of “Celebrity Apprentice,” during which NeNe Leakes severely berated Star Jones for her “backstabbing” competitiveness, it’s clear that the were far from friends on the show. And during a trip to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” May 3, Jones opened up about the heated incident, calling Leakes a wild “uncaged animal.”
During the interview, Ellen DeGeneres asked Jones to explain what she was thinking as she was being yelled at by an angry Leakes, to which Jones shared that her only thoughts were to maintain her dignity and retreat.
“I was thinking my grandmother is going to watch this,” Jones said, adding that she didn’t want to embarrass her friends or family. “I was thinking I need to keep calm because, not for nothing, but when you’re confronted in the wild with an uncaged animal you’re supposed to retreat. You’re not supposed to attack.”
When asked if the two rivals are now more friendly after taping the show, Jones explains that she and Leakes aren’t the kind of individuals that could ever be friends.
“Well, the lawyer in me would say, ‘We were not friends before, we were clearly not friends during, we are not friends after,’” Jones said. “I don’t know that girl and I don’t hang with people like that.”
